Allergy Testing

Allergies are biochemical reactions to allergens – substances that are foreign to the human body. These allergic reactions trigger our immune systems into producing IgE antibodies, which cause symptoms such as a runny nose, itchy/watering eyes, eczema or nausea.

Everyone reacts differently to allergens and some may never experience reactions at all. For others, they can be extremely serious (for example, shortness of breath or unconsciousness) and so it is essential to know what, if anything, you are allergic to.

In our allergy assessment, we use a small drop of blood to test for the presence of IgE antibodies in relation to the ten most common allergens in Europe. As airborne allergies can affect breathing, we will also perform a lung function test.

Unfortunately, allergies cannot be cured. But based on the results, we can provide essential lifestyle advice that reduces exposure to allergens and the resulting symptoms.

Test Duration: Approximately 30 minutes.
