Hampshire Fire Service Health Promotion Week

Enhancing the effectiveness of an employee health promotion week.

With a compulsory fitness exam to pass every three years, fire fighters have a vested interest in their health and fitness. To complement their own testing regime, Hampshire Fire and Rescue appointed us to provide a range of health checks as part of their ‘Health Promotion Week’.

These covered:

Lung function.

Blood pressure.

Cholesterol.

BMI (body mass index).

Bone density.

Over the course of the event, over 50 staff members took advantage of the assessments including fire fighters, occupational health staff, office workers, fire and safety advisors and control room staff.

Our work was well received and Heather Wilkins, Health and Safety Administrator for Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service, was extremely pleased with the response. This feeling was mirrored by Nick Burchell, Senior Health & Safety Advisor, who comments: “Overall it was a huge success that generated only positive feedback. The awareness was high and everyone was very willing to come along.”
