Heart and Lung Check
This session builds on the components of the heart check to also ascertain the condition of your lungs.
Whilst this is of particular importance for smokers, passive smokers and those working in hazardous environments, it is advisable that everyone is aware of their risk from respiratory problems such as asthma.
In addition to the tests performed as part of our heart check, we measure:
Lung function/performance by ascertaining capacity and air flow.
Red blood cell count, which helps to identify related issues such as anaemia.
Carbon monoxide levels – vital for smokers and passive smokers.
The results of these tests enable us to calculate your cardiovascular and respiratory risk.
If we discover a higher than normal level of risk, then we will give you simple, practical advice on how you can improve your cardiovascular and respiratory health. If the risk is more significant, then the best course of action may be to visit one of our occupational health advisors or your own doctor. We will of course advise you if we feel this is the case.
Test Duration: Approximately 1 hour.
