Woman of Achievement from Simplyhealth
Beating off some fierce competition, Simplyhealth Group Corporate Affairs Director Romana Abdin has been awarded ‘Business Woman of the Year’ in the corporate category of the recent Asian Women of Achievement Awards 2007. She collected her award last week during a prestigious dinner at the Park Lane Hilton in London.
Romana was nominated on the basis of her contribution to the enormous turnaround that the Simplyhealth Group as made since she joined the organisation in 2001 – of which the judges said: “This lady joined an organisation that was 79 years old and helped transform the company and increase turnover by 111%. Romana’s personality, spirit and dedication has been fundamental in turning the company around.”
The Asian Women of Achievement Awards applaud and celebrate the commitment, dedication and determination of Asian women to their professional and personal achievements within the commercial, professional, artistic and humanitarian sectors.
On accepting her trophy, she thanked her children and husband for their support, and also the Simplyhealth Group for “letting me be who I want to be”.
